Nightfall by Norah Wilson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is the second book in A Vampire Romance series. I loved it!
Aiden Afflack is a vampire on a mission - to track down rogue vampires. He is a fantastic character. He is very strong, fast and extremely dangerous. He is also very confident, which borders on arrogant. We briefly met him near the end of The Merzetti Effect. He intrigued me (and scared me!) then, but this is his story, and I must admit that he has become a serious book crush! He's seriously HOT! ;)
Samantha Shea (she prefers Sam) is a fantastic character too. She is a feisty and stubborn woman, who happens to be an amazing nature photographer. She seems to have the ability to sense when a weather event is about to happen. When she stumbles on Aiden during one of his missions, sparks fly!
This is a fantastic paranormal romance novel! I think I liked this book a lot more than The Merzetti Effect; Maybe it's because I didn't like what Delano did to Ainsley. Anyway, this book seriously caught and held my attention from the first page. There is a lot of danger in the form of the rogues. They are definitely nasty! I wouldn't want to meet those vampires! The story is a slight continuation of The Merzetti Effect, and Delano, Ainsley and Eli make an appearance. However, it is the romance of Aiden and Sam that steams up the pages! It is told from both of their perspectives, and is a roller coaster ride from start to finish. I don't know why ladies (me included) always go for the "bad boys" in books. Maybe it's because they appeal to our more primitive brain? Maybe it's because they're not really "bad boys" as such, but very decisive and take charge types, who know what they want.
Aiden Afflack is definitely one of those types, and I think that he and Sam make a great couple. I hope that there will be a new story in this series soon!
Norah Wilson has written a fast paced, steamy paranormal romance that had my heart racing for many different reasons! I do not recommend this book to younger readers due to the sensual nature of some of the scenes. I do, however, recommend this book (and series) if you love steamy paranormal romances with sexy vampires! - Lynn Worton
