Book Review of Creak by Elizabeth Morgan

Book Title: Creak
Genre: Erotic Suspense
Pages: 92
Author: Elizabeth Morgan
Date Published: 7 September 2015

Synopsis:

“What happens in Silver Creek…stays in Silver Creek.”

After spending the summer as a recluse due to a bad break-up, Nicole Saunders agrees to go to The Heat Wave Festival with her best friends, Kacey and Tyler.

Along with three other friends, they plan to take a shortcut through the small town of Silver Creek. The last thing any of them expect is to become lost and end up pulling into a motel for the night.

The Creek Motel is isolated and the last place Nicole wants to be, especially after meeting the glacial owner. But her discomfort is soon forgotten as she finally gives in to her feelings and asks Kacey and Tyler to spend the night with her.

This should be bliss, but it quickly turns into a nightmare when she discovers that one of their friends has mysteriously disappeared from her locked room in the middle of the night.

Worried, Nicole presumes the worst, but she will soon discover that isolation can be the perfect stage for those who have something to hide…and that Jayne's disappearance is more disturbing than any of them could have guessed.

This title contains explicit language and scenes of a sexual and/or violent nature which some readers may find disturbing.

CreakCreak by Elizabeth Morgan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

This is an atmospheric, quick and suspenseful erotic menage story short. I really enjoyed it.

Nicole Saunders is a likable character. She has withdrawn from relationships due to a bad break up with her ex. Her friends, in an effort to get her out of the doldrums, invite her to the Heat Wave Festival. When they find themselves lost, they find a motel called The Creek Motel. Unfortunately, something sinister lurks within its walls.

Having previously read a contemporary romance and a paranormal romance series from this author, when she contacted me to ask if I would be interested in reading her short erotic suspense novella, I promptly said yes.

I started to read and was quickly hooked. The story is mostly told through the eyes of Nicole. However, there is a sinister presence lurking at the motel and the reader gets to see things through their point of view. This gives the story a decidedly chilling feel and builds the suspense nicely. I liked meeting the various characters. Kacey and Tyler have been friends with Nicole for years - since childhood. Jayne, Shauna and Craig are also Nicole's friends and join them for a weekend at the Festival.

I must admit that I haven't read many menage stories, but was pleasantly surprised and delighted with this one. My only complaint is that this novella was too short! I would have liked to have a little more of the suspense drawn out and maybe another missing person or two before the culprit was captured. In fact, if one was to take out the erotica component and embellish the story with more creepy goings on, this would make one suspenseful thriller. However, be that as it may, the trio of Nicole, Kasey and Tyler are extremely hot together, though I would have also liked a little more "them time", if you get my meaning. They may have been friends from childhood, but their relationship as a threesome is brand new and could have had a little more exploration time too.
I reached the end of the book with mixed feelings; this story left me wanting more.

Elizabeth Morgan has written a fast paced and exciting short erotic thriller. I love her fast paced writing style, and the story flow was wonderful. I have added her to my favourite authors list.

Due to scenes of a sexual nature, as well as some explicit bad language and violence, I do not recommend this book for readers under the age of 18. I do, however, highly recommend this book if you love thrillers, menage, erotica or erotic suspense. - Lynn Worton
