Hollowland by Amanda Hocking

Meet Remy, she is a girl who knows how to survive.

She can kick some butt.  She knows how to handle a gun and she knows how to go up against flesh eating Zombies.

But Remy is the way she is due to Max.  Her 8 year old little brother that is her only surviving relative.
He is a little boy she made a promise too.  A promise she intends to keep.

So we enter the wastelands with Remy where she meets Harlow.  A 13 year old girl going onto 30 and 3 within seconds.

They save a lion, Ripley and here my facination with the book started. This, for me was the hook.
Ripley is not tame, but she sure does like them bones...

Next comes Lazlo and Blue, one a rock star and one an almost doctor.

But can they find Max...

The best thing about this book ending was the fact that I already own the second in this series.
I loved this dystopian world and think the author did an amazing job of merging world building and character building all into one entertaining read.
